Introducing the Briggs family!
In their own words: “We prayed in September 2008 and asked God, “Do You want us to adopt?” It wasn’t surprising, knowing God’s heart, that his reply was an instantaneous, “Of course!” Praying further about where, we finally landed on Bulgaria. This was the beginning of a faith journey of prayer, patience, fundraising, and planning. Plenty of ups and downs have marked the path. Doubts of our own and from our kids, struggles with raising funds, and the sheer enormity of the process nearly derailed us. But God has been faithful in so many ways: physical resources, emotional support, and faithful assurance that we are following His plan for our family. Our girls, 8 and 10, grow in excitement with each passing month and year. As we hit the home stretch in the process, they have contributed their toys, clothes, prayers… and even their help with a huge yard sale… in an effort to provide a warm welcome when their new sibling comes home!”
Sweet M’s is going to help too! This year the Briggs family will be the recipient of this fundraising endeavor and I cannot wait to see how God multiplies the work of my hands on their behalf. Join me in the journey… it’s going to be a great year!
Meet John and Tara McKibben. They are the reason I started Sweet M’s. My own family was changed by the adoption of our daughter Luci and when I talk with others who are considering adopting a child I often hear how discouraged they are by the expense of it. This was true of the McKibbens and so I decided to join them in their fundraising. I believe that when Luci came into our lives we also received a fair sized chunk of God’s heart along with her. No expense is too great for that! (This is my way of helping) Isn’t Kami a perfect fit for their family!
I began hand sewing clothes for my Barbie dolls when I was a little girl and by age 8 my Mom had bought a sewing machine for me. I’ve kept up with it ever since and love finding all sorts of reasons to be creative. I hope you enjoy seeing what I’m working on!
Every purchase helps!
